Determines general health status and screens for a variety of disorders, such as anaemia and infection, inflammation, nutritional status, and exposure to toxic substances. This test focuses on your blood cells and platelets. Deviations from normal levels is associated to several medical conditions.
Lipid (fat) profile assesses the risk of cardiovascular disease, as they are known to increase the possibility of a cardiovascular event. The blood test consists of measuring your cholesterol levels including HDL and LDL known as ‘good’ and ‘bad’ cholesterol as well as triglyceride levels.
The Kidney/Renal and Liver Profile evaluates how well these vital organs are working:
- The Kidney/Renal Profile consist of: Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Urea, Creatinine, Bicarbonate and estimated GFR.
- The Liver function Profile consists of: Alkaline Phosphate, Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, Total Protein, Bilirubin and Albumin
Inflammatory markers (CRP/ERS) identify inflammation or infection in the body.
Average Blood Sugar levels (HBa1c blood test) tests for diabetes.
PSA blood test assesses your risk of developing Prostate Cancer. As the most common type of cancer found in men this test can enable early detection when treatment is most effective.
Thyroid profile determines how well your thyroid gland is functioning. Symptoms of an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) are similar to other diseases so can be easily mistaken. The thyroid gland is responsible for regulating vital bodily functions such as Metabolism, Growth and Development.
