Tests Provided

Exercise Tolerance Test 

Once on the treadmill, the pace and gradient will slowly increase in 3 stages to elevate your heart rate. During the test, you will be carefully monitored throughout, and your blood pressure taken at regular intervals.

To pass the test you will be required to complete 3 stages of the Bruce protocol safely while remaining free of signs of cardiovascular dysfunction as per the DVLA guidelines. DVLA no longer requires regular anti-anginal medication to be stopped.

Echocardiogram (LVEF Reading)

Echo is an ultrasound scan which creates a detailed image of your heart structures to determine how well your heart is functioning.

In the presence of atrial fibrillation, licensing will be subject to an echocardiogram and confirmation of left ventricular ejection fraction of at least 40%.

Stress Echocardiogram

A Stress Echo, assesses the performance of your heart and surrounding blood vessels under stress by deliberately increasing your heart rate, otherwise known as an Exercise Stress Echocardiogram.

If safe to do so, the doctor may ask you to stop taking beta-blocker medication before testing. Please let a member of staff know upon booking an appointment

Other Heart Tests 

Licensing body's may request a specific test for certain cardiovascular disorders such arrhythmia's. We provide a range of heart tests such as Resting ECG and 24-hour ECG monitors. Please speak to a member of staff who will advise you further.

Taxi and Private Hire Medical Assessment

The evaluation typically includes a review of medical history, vision and hearing tests, cardiovascular health checks, and assessments of other relevant health conditions to ensure drivers are physically fit to operate a taxi safely.
